Sarah Jane Sauer, 64, Indianapolis, passed away on March 18, 2021, due to complications associated with heart surgery. She was born on September 19, 1956. Sarah was a hardworking and successful insurance sales manager for 30 years, working for several notable companies throughout the years and most recently Kemper Life. She was a dedicated and loving sister, wife, aunt, mother, and grandmother. She spent many years coaching softball at Eagledale Little league. She was a volunteer for the PTA at St. Gabriel’s school and a member of their parish for 45 years. She enjoyed life theatre, vacationing, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching their achievements from near and far away. She had a passion for helping people and would give a stranger the shirt of her back if they needed it. She also had love for animals. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Henry C. and Lida F. Wade; husband, Gary Lee Sauer; and granddaughter, Melissa Dawn Runnels. Survivors include daughters, Barbara Runnels and Mary (Calvin) Adams; Sisters Sandee Cullison and Mary Swope; and grandchildren, Michael Scott, Carson, and Cameron. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 24 from 5-8 p.m., with a Funeral Mass Thursday, March 25 at 11 a.m. in St. Gabriel Church, 600 W. 34th St. Indianapolis with visitation one hour prior to service. A burial service will be held for both Sarah and Gary Sauer at Calvary Cemetery following Sarah’s Funeral Mass. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway.
