Sarah E. Smith

Sarah E. Smith, 86, Westfield, passed away April 23, 2018. She was born August 30, 1931, in Laurel, MS, the daughter of the late Rhoderick and Lula (Locke) Pittman. She married William D. Smith, Sr. on March 28, 1952.

Sarah was an active member of Zionsville United Methodist Church. She was a woman of strong faith, who loved her church and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, William D. Smith, Sr.; two sons, William D. (Michele) Smith, Jr. and Robert A. (Lloyd Osborn) Smith; two grandchildren, Benjamin (Chloe) Smith and Jennifer (Gage) Bannister; and one great grandson, Will. She was preceded in passing by her siblings, Lucile Ishee, Frank Pittman, Laura Nell Pearson, Mary Lou Brown, Margaret Alvaney, and Rod Pittman.

A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
