Sandra Gail (Summers) Kessler

Sandra Gail (Summers) Kessler, age 79, passed away January 27, 2022, surrounded by close family.  Sandra was born October 16, 1942, in Collinsville IL to Robert John Summers and Ruby Jewel (Bouren) Summers.

She married Arthur R. Kessler Sr. on June 3, 1961 in Sikeston, MO. Sandra is survived by her brother Jim (Rosie) Summers, her children, Kim Kessler, Arthur R. (Deanna) Kessler Jr., and Andrea Kessler, five grandchildren, Jessica Gail Henson, Alexandrea (Eli) Hutson, Kyle Tohill, Aaron Tohill, Clinton Kessler, and four great-grandchildren, Maci Jane Alvarado, Noa Alvarado, Huck Hutson, Rafe Hutson, and a fifth on the way.

She graduated Sikeston High School in 1961 with a full Music Scholarship.  Sandra was a homemaker and wife.  She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, and crocheting.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and three dogs.  In her spare time, she was involved in philanthropic organizations which included, Jobs Daughters, Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile.  As a past Grand Guardian and a past Queen of Star and Nile, she spent many hours devoting her time to H.I.K.E. (Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment) and sewing blankets for the kids at the Shriners Hospital For Children here in Indianapolis.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250.  Funeral services will begin at 12:00 Noon with a short graveside service immediately following.  Those that wish to, may join the family for the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers,  you may submit donations to H.I.K.E for the hearing aids or Daughters of The Nile for the blankets for the children at the hospital.
