Rose Marie Green

Rose Marie Green, 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on June 18, 2018. She was born August 13, 1938 to Lawrence and Bernadine Blankman in Greensburg, Indiana.

Rose met the love of her life, George Green, through a family friend. The two were married in 1967 and remained deeply in love for 37 years until his passing in 2005.  She worked for Butler University as an administrator in the registrar’s office for nearly 20 years. Rosie was a member of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Association, where her love of music shined through, as well as The Red Hat Society. She loved playing cards; belonging to a card club for nearly 50 years.  She also volunteered at St. Michael’s School and with the Dyslexia Institute.  Rose enjoyed many hobbies from cooking to reading to sewing and crafts. She also loved sports, particularly the Butler Bulldogs and the Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed traveling, once even meeting former Pope, Saint John Paul II while in Rome. Though she had many interests, she dedicated her life to her family. She cherished her time with them, especially her three grandchildren. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy that will live on through her family and friends.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Bernadine and loving husband of 37 years, George. Surviving to cherish her memory are children, William “Bill” Green and Patti (David) Marsella; grandchildren, Nicholas, Delaney, and Joseph; siblings, Marjorie (John) Bedel, Marie Wolter, Martha Blankman, and Arthur (Maria) Blankman; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, June 22^nd, from 4-7pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive 46228. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 23^rd, at 10:30am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 3354 W 30th St, Indianapolis, IN 46222.  She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Peace immediately following mass.
