Dr. Robert Troy Schmidt, Dds

Robert Troy Schmidt, DDS, passed away November 7, 2022, in Indianapolis at the age of 90. He was born February 16, 1932, in Terre Haute, Indiana to William Troy and Helen Marie (Campbell) Schmidt.

After graduating from high school, Robert joined the United States Air Force and served five years. After leaving the Air Force, Robert earned his dentistry degree from Indiana University.

After retiring, Robert and Thelma loved to travel in an RV for over 10 years before slowing down.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Thelma Louise (White); his son Robert Troy (Trisha) Schmidt, II, of Katy, Texas; daughter-in-law Vicki; grandchildren Chelsea and Zach; and four great-grandchildren Amelia Marie Schmidt, Brandon Lee Schmidt, Alize Schmidt, and Jada Schmidt. He was preceded in death by his daughter Rhonda Marie (Schmidt) Atkinson, his son Ronald Dean Schmidt, his twin sister Paladia Joy Nelson from Oakridge, Tennessee, and his parents.

Viewing will be 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Flanner Buchanan – Speedway at 2950 N. High School Road in Indianapolis, with funeral services starting at 11 a.m. Entombment at West Ridge Park Cemetery at 9295 W. 21^st Street in Indianapolis will follow.
