Robert J. Harris

June 23, 1967 — July 26, 2022

Indianapolis, Indiana

Rob passed away after a short and hard-fought battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. He was surrounded by his immediate family and left this world peacefully and on his own terms. Rob was first and foremost a devoted dad to his two daughters: Madison Taylor and Alexandra Jean. His one true goal that meant everything to him was to be the best dad and get his girls started on their life as best he could. He absolutely adored and loved them for exactly who they were and came to be as beautiful, talented, kind and intelligent ladies.

Rob was also an amazing husband, partner and best friend who made day-to-day life easy, full of love, comfortable, fun and safe. He was known to mow out a path in the grass for lawn games and grill up anything you wanted. Rob was a good son and brother, a true friend and loved by many that he met in his lifetime.

Rob is survived by his 2 girls, Madison and Alexandra, his wife Lisa (Tully), his father John Harris, stepmother Joan Harris, brother Rick Harris, sister-in-law Ashini, and nephews Kiran and Reshan, and a large extended family.

Rob was a Sergeant in the Army National Guard of Indiana. He made a good career in IT as an Architect and loved building systems. He performed exceedingly well on a consistent basis.

Rob loved the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed backpacking, camping and hiking. It was normal for Rob to have a ‘go bag’ so he could take his girls out camping or go off by himself to be happy, calm and peaceful in nature. He was an athlete that has completed an Iron Man, marathons+ and tri competitions. His favorite place to be was either traveling with his family or being alone in the wilderness.

Anyone who knew Rob knows that we have said too much. He was a private man who lived exactly as he wanted; free, honest and goal-oriented. Rob will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

A celebration of Rob’s life will be held on Sunday, July 31 from 10am-noon at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
