Robert “Bob” E. Hutson,

82, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. He was born on Monday, October 23, 1933, to the late Willis and Blanche (Shelby) Hutson. Bob grew up in Indianapolis, running off to join the Indiana National Guard. at the age of 15. When he was 19 he joined the Navy, and served his country proudly in the Korean War. He received several acknowledgements while in the service, including the National Defense Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and a Korean Presidential Unit Citation.

Bob returned home and worked as a pipefitter with Citizen’s Gas, retiring after 37 years, in 1993. While working there, he was introduced to Evelyn Koelling by her daughter, Patti, and his daughter, Beth. Bob and Evelyn were married on August 31, 1991. Bob was a giving and loving man with a wonderful heart, and lived his life to serve God and his fellow man. He shared his love for the Lord with his children and grandchildren, and treasured listening to the Word through gospel music.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Wayne Hutson and Sandra Carney. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Juli Hutson, Beth Hickman (Jim), Patti King, and Michael King (Tricia); and his Grandchildren, Dustin Robert Hickman, Lindsey Kay Hall (Joel), Madisen King, and Cameron King; and his sister, Janet Everton (Charlie).

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis IN. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 15 at 11:00am. Military honors will immediately follow the funeral service.
