Richard Raymond Hardman Jr.

Richard Raymond Hardman Jr., 77, Indianapolis, passed away April 11, 2018. He was born December 10, 1940, in Indianapolis, the son of the late Richard Raymond Sr. and Faith Hardman. He married Phyllis Jean Hardman who preceded him in passing on July 27, 1997.

Richard enjoyed a long career with Richardson Rubber Company of Indianapolis. He was a member of Lawrence Apostolic Church. He was a man with an incredible faith and loved to sing and read his bible.

He is survived by his five children, Dorothy (Mark) Welp, Richard “Rick” Hardman III, Melinda (Troy) Hatton, Jon Hardman, and Don Hardman; three grandchildren, Christie Hatton, Chris Abrams, and Tiffany Hatton; and three great grandchildren, Xavier Stephens, Tobias Hatton, and Grayson Hatton; one brother, Michael (Darlene) Hardman, three sisters, Elizabeth (John) Wilde, Gloria (Ron) Prentice, and Esther (Jeff) Grocox; a sister-in-law, Peggy Hardman and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by a brother, Shirland Hardman on January 31, 2018.

Services will be at 12 noon Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared by visiting flannerbuchanan.com.
