Richard Otto Rosemeyer

Richard Otto Rosemeyer died June 29, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 79.

He was born September 21, 1939 at his home at 1708 Milburn Street in Indianapolis to Otto and Ruby Cuykendall Rosemeyer.

After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army. He went on to work at Overhead Door where he remained for 44 years serving in various capacities from installation and carpentry to management.

He loved classic cars, owning many over the years. Dick will be remembered as a master storyteller who kept everyone laughing with his great sense of humor, as well as a man of great kindness who never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Sharon Rosemeyer; children Theresa Mae Couch and Richard S. Rosemeyer (Jennifer); grandchildren Kyle Couch (Shelby), Madison Couch, Mitchell Rosemeyer, Grace Rosemeyer, and Trent Rosemeyer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Kevin Couch, siblings Robert Rosemeyer, Lelia Hanson, and Mary Alice Rhodes; and his parents.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2 from 4 to 8 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 3 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Dick’s honor to the St. Vincent Foundation, 8402 Harcourt Road, Suite 210, Indianapolis, IN 46260 for Oncology Services at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
