Richard Eugene Potts

Richard Eugene Potts, 74, of Fairland, IN, passed away January 19, 2022. He was born in Jackson County, Indiana on September 16, 1947 to the late Richard C. and Zita M. Potts.

At 19 years old, he moved to the Indianapolis area for greater opportunities. He was a diligent worker, specializing in sales and service, and ended up owning a couple of businesses including a coffee repair shop and pizza parlor.

In years past, he acted as the President of Shelbyville Eagles, he was a member of the American Legion Post 70, and the FOP.

He is survived by his loving children, Tony (Kim) Smith, Billy (Missy) Smith, Chad Potts, Staci Potts; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; his sister, Thelma Winter, his best buddy Edward Melloh, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Mary Tucher Potts; and siblings, Helen Criswell and Roger Potts.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26th from 4-8PM with funeral services to be held the following day on Thursday, January 27th at 11AM all at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229.
