Richard C. "Dick" Snyder

Richard Clarence “Dick” Snyder, 80, of Indianapolis, IN went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2022.  Dick was born in Columbus, OH on May 2, 1941, to parents, Clarence Franklin and Kathryn Lucille (Shover) Snyder.  He graduated from Linden McKinley High School and attended Capital University.  Dick retired as a manager from Continental Insurance after 27 years of service in 4 different states. He worked in men’s fashion sales until COVID forced his retirement from these services.

Dick was a long-time member of Castleview Church. He faithfully spent his first moments of every day doing Our Daily Bread devotionals and praying. He was true patriot and loved all of God’s handiwork in the beautiful landscapes across the country. He loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Colts. In his younger years, he loved the outdoors, playing basketball, and almost any card game. Dick had a wonderful sense of humor and loved sharing his jokes and memes, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed daily trips to Kroger and spending time with the “Knights of the Golden Arches” breakfast group.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Kathryn; sister, Betty Snyder and brothers, Paul Snyder and David Snyder.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Maryann (Smith) Snyder, whom he married on September 12, 1981 in Detroit, MI; children: Rhonda Fuller (Tom), Anita Lambert, Laura Horne (Jarrett), and Tim Snyder (Naomi); grandchildren: Corey Hedges (Stephanie), Kelley Snyder, Parker Lambert, Chandler Lambert, Silas Horne, Audrea Horne, Gideon Horne, Jemima Horne, Emmerie Snyder, Esmae Horne and Ronen Horne; great-grandson, Cruz Hedges; nephew, Steve Snyder (Susie); niece, Suzy Cooper; and many other loving family and friends.

Friends may call from 1-2pm, Saturday, May 14th, 2022 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250, where memorial services will immediately follow beginning at 2pm.
