Richard Austin Cochran Acheson

November 18, 1980 — December 2, 2016

Richard Austin Cochran Acheson of Indianapolis, devoted husband to Allison DeNardin Acheson and loving father to his children, Austin, Neveah and Aleia, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2016. Born November 18, 1980, Austin was the beloved son of Donald Acheson and Roxanne Blackwell and grandson to the late Patricia and Richard Cochran and Violet and Robert Charkowski. He leaves behind five siblings, Christie, Lindsey, Susanah, Leo, and Patricia, as well as many close cousins, nieces and nephews. He maintained strong friendships with many.

Austin left lasting impressions. If it wasn’t his outgoing spirit, contagious laugh, or handsome looks, his undeniable charm branded itself in everyone’s memory. He cared so deeply about his family and friends, who are all quick to point out his enormous heart. His vibrant personality will live on forever in those he touched.

Austin attended Eastwood Middle School and Ritter High School in Indianapolis. He took after his father at a young age, proving handy on the home front. He ultimately joined his father’s construction company, Acheson & Associates, where he led countless residential and commercial projects. and was the intended successor. Austin also served as a proud contributor and member of the Carvel Club and The Healing Place.

Visitation will take place on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., followed by the funeral Mass at the family’s parish, St. Susanna Church in Plainfield, IN.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to The Healing Place, 1020 W. Market St., Louisville, KY 40202.
