Richard A Turner

Richard “Rick” Allen Turner passed away early in the morning on February 8th, 2022. He was born on August 20, 1954 to William Kenneth “Kenny” Turner and Mary Josephine “Jo” Turner (Burdine) in Franklin, IN. 

Rick graduated from Center Grove in 1972 and went on to join the military. He was involved in the Navy, Air Force Reserves, Army, and his personal favorite, the Marine Corps. Over his military career he advanced and retired to the rank of Major. In 1991 he married Debra Kay Dicks. In 1992 he graduated from IUPUI with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and went on to have a 25+ year career in Computer Applications with Raytheon. Rick was also an avid volunteer; He spent time volunteering for public safety organizations such as Red Cross, IMPD SWAT, IMPD Bomb Squad, IMPD Aviation, Emergency Management, and CERT where he was given several awards from the City of Indianapolis for his service.

He is survived by his spouse: Debra Kay Turner (Dicks); three children: Dawn Christine, Dianne Crystal, Eric Christopher; three grandchildren: Izabella Scarlett, Maximus John, Madelyn Grace; and three siblings: Vickie Lynn, Billy Joe, John Edward

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo (2013) and father, William Kenneth (2021).

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 12PM at Washington Park East Cemetery.
