Raymond J. Thomas, 82, Indianapolis, passed away August 19, 2016. He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on August 10, 1934, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Riel) Thomas. Ray served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was in industrial sales for many years. Ray was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed college sports, as well as hockey and football. He also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Ray was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ray is survived by his wife of 29 years, Patsy Thomas; his children, Jay Thomas (Jodie), Jane Everling (Greg), David Thomas, Cheryl West, Debbie Boyer (Chris), and Shannon Thomas; his grandchildren, Ben West, Katie Boyer, Alyssa Gillespie (Justin), Rachel Everling, Matthew Everling, Kyler Thomas, Kara Thomas, Katarina Thomas, Paxton Thomas, Aden Thomas, and Rory Thomas; his great-grandson, Mars West; and his faithful canine companion, “Sammy Boy”. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 25 at 2 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive, with visitation from 11 AM until service time. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery, with military rites. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
