Raymond Clarence Russell passed away on September 15, 2022, at the age of 94. Raymond was born in Monroe County, Kentucky on September 9, 1928, to parents Clarence and Julie (Walker) Russell. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked as a machinist for Peerless Pump during his career. Raymond was a member of South Keystone Church of Christ, where he was a deacon. He belonged to the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union and was a member of the American Legion.
Raymond was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend. His world revolved around his family, whom he was so extremely proud of and thankful for, but his late wife, Dulcy, was the center of his universe. Raymond taught his family to treat everyone with kindness, no matter what their lot in life. He loved animals. He loved the children and they loved him. Raymond was a big kid himself and was well-known for his sense of humor and his smile. He enjoyed any basketball team playing against IU, especially the Kentucky Wildcats. Raymond was also a talented musician, sharing his music and teaching family members to play the guitar and mandolin.
