Ralph Watkins

June 23, 1932 — February 8, 2023

Ralph Thomas Watkins, 90 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Indianapolis on June 23, 1932 to Adam and Grace (Arthur) Watkins.

Ralph retired from Chrysler in 1988. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, working puzzles and going to church. He was an active member of Hope Christian Church, serving several years as an elder.

His family attested that Ralph was a true family man including being married to his loving wife, Edna (Johnson) Watkins for 66 plus years. He is also survived by his children: Joyce (Rick) Sowers, Jeff Watkins and Nancy (Reggie) Van Velse. As well as daughter-in-law, Betty Watkins. Grandchildren: Heather, Stacy, Bethany, Michelle, Mike, Allison, Emilie, Landon and Logan and 5 Great-Grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, siblings, son Mark Watkins and grandson Matthew Van Velse.

A time of visitation will be on Sunday, February 12th from 3-8 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East located at 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 13th at noon with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Jonathan Manship will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hope Christian Church at 3525 S. Senour Road, Indianapolis, IN 46239.
