Peggy Ann Perry

Peggy A Perry, 72, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at her residence after a very long courageous battle with health. She was a real fighter. Peggy was born on June 6, 1950, in Akron, Ohio to the late Amos and Mildred (Brandt) Strickland. Peggy graduated from Coventry High, Akron Ohio. On 27 June 1969 she enlisted in the United States Women’s Army Corps (WAC) and was stationed at Fort McClellan, Alabama. There in 1970 she met her future husband, Danny R Perry. On June 12, 1971, Peggy and Danny were married in Trenton, Georgia. The couple spent the next 24 years as a military family traveling across the United States and between Ft Bliss, Texas and Europe. Peggy was a great military wife and mother of two children. She worked as a full-time retail sales associate until retiring in 2015. Being a very creative person Peggy enjoyed doing decorative arts and crafts around the house and taking care of her plants and flowers. She loved cooking and was such a great cook. Peggy greatly loved her family and spending time with them. She will always be remembered as a caring wife, mother and grandmother. Along with her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by two younger sisters and one younger brother. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Danny R. Perry SR.; her two children, Toby Ann (Keith) Miller, Danny R. Perry JR. and her two grandchildren, Kurt and Brooke Miller, brothers Paul, Fred and Namon Strickland plus many nieces and nephews. According to Peggy’s wishes she wanted no final viewing and will be cremated. A final memorial service will be held along with military honors. Final care and cremation arrangements are entrusted to Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN. A visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229 from 11AM-1PM, with a service beginning at 1PM, on Friday, January 27, 2023.
