Paul A. Lombardo

Passed away on his birthday, February 28, 2016, at the age of 89. Paul was born in Indianapolis to the late August and Catherine (Spicuzze) Lombardo.

Paul served his country in World War II in the U.S. Navy as a gunner on the Midway carrier.

He served 20 years on the Indianapolis Police Department and earned the rank of Sargent. After leaving the police department, he served 20 years as a Sherriff of the Indiana Supreme Court, protecting the judges of the court. He was also a long time parishioner of the Trinity Lutheran Church and School.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, as well as 10 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Cathy Wells (Claude), Paul A. Lombardo, Jr. (Linda), Gina Lombardo; his sister, Josephine, 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lombardo leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Helen M. Lombardo.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 8540 E. 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219. Public visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to service time. Paul will receive military honors following the funeral service at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis IN 46229.
