Lawrence Devon Adcock and Patsy Lynn Adcock (Pinter)
Husband and wife, Lawrence Devon Adcock and Patsy Lynn Adcock (Pinter), of Neshoba County, Mississippi, died 10 days apart on Sunday, March 29, 2020, and Wednesday, April 8, 2020, respectively, due to sudden illnesses in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Lawrence Devon Adcock (Larry), was born on April 8, 1933, to Claude Lawrence Adcock and Eula Ozell (Breazeale) Adcock in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Patsy Lynn Adcock (Pinter), was born on May 7, 1936, to Lodonal D. Pinter and Claudine Pinter (Hillman) in Neshoba County, Mississippi. Pat was the oldest of three girls and graduated from Union High School in Union, Mississippi.
Larry graduated from Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Mississippi, and after, served in the United States Air Force in Korea. He returned home and graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. On September 25, 1954, Larry and Pat were married. They were blessed with 3 sons, Kent, Mark, and Sam, and one daughter, Kelli. They had 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Larry was an Executive at Dow Chemical, serving in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Lake Jackson, Texas; Midland, Michigan; and The Netherlands. He also served as a leader and board member for numerous civic and philanthropic organizations, including the Gulf Coast Bible College, Warner Press, United Way, American Chamber of Commerce (the Netherlands), Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce, the Louisiana Chemical Association, and others. Pat was a homemaker and had a wonderful gift of hospitality, where she excelled in decorating, cooking and baking, along with hosting events for family and friends. She was also involved in raising funds for many nonprofit organizations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and worked as a florist during her time in Midland, Michigan. She participated in numerous church organizations, including many intercessory prayer groups. Larry and Pat were advocates and life-long members of the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana.
Larry and Pat traveled the world during their years at Dow Chemical, especially enjoying 4 years in The Netherlands. Following Larry’s retirement, they built a home in Gulfport, Mississippi. After Hurricane Katrina destroyed it in 2005, they moved to the mountains of North Carolina, eventually ending up in Indianapolis, Indiana. Larry and Pat valued faith, family and friends.
Larry and Pat were preceded in death by Larry’s parents, Claude Lawrence Adcock and Eula Ozell (Breazeale) Adcock; Pat’s parents, Lodonal D. Pinter and Claudine Pinter (Hillman); Larry’s brothers, Joseph Byron Adcock and Donald K. Adcock and their brother-in-law, Harold Dennis. They are survived by their son, Kent (Melanie) Adcock of Umatilla, Florida; their son, Mark (Angela) Adcock of Indianapolis, Indiana; their son, Sam (Carol) Adcock of Vienna, Virginia; their daughter, Kelli (Brett) Brooks of Westfield, Indiana; Larry’s sister, Ava Marie Becker; Larry’s sister-in-law, Carolyn Adcock; Pat’s sisters, Nancy Dennis (Pinter) and Martha (Jack) Lane (Pinter); 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
