Patricia Louise Chandler

Patricia Louise Chandler, 79, of New Palestine, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019. She was born on December 2, 1939 in Batesville, IN to the late John Smith and Violet M. (Short) Rogers.

Pat grew up in the Indianapolis area and graduated from Manual High School in 1957. She worked as a secretary for several years with Ben Hur Construction, retiring in 2007. Away from work Pat was a devoted mother, and caregiver.

She is survived by her children, Candis (Paul) Ervin and Ron (Aracely) Chandler; grandchildren, Brandon (Angela Hickey) Ervin, Justin (Sara) Ervin, Ashley (Levi) Jones, Alexandra Chandler, John (Angela) Chandler, Cassandra (Zachary Jones) Chandler; great-grandchildren, Hailey Ervin, Madison Jones, Colton Ervin, Alexis Jones, Peyton Chandler, Ellie Chandler, Connor Hickey. Pat is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Barbara Rogers, Evelyn Handley and Wanda Elkins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert F. Chandler; brother, Donald Rogers; and infant son, Donald Lee Chandler.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East from 11am – 1pm, with funeral services immediately following. Pat will be laid next to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery. Pat was very generous and often donated to St. Jude and Riley Children’s Hospital. Her family also wishes to extend their deep appreciation for the level of care she received recently with St. Vincent Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice or to any of the organizations mentioned above.
