Patricia Jeanne "Pat" (Hurst) Kennedy

Patricia Jeanne “Pat” (Hurst) Kennedy, 73, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on March 1, 2021.  She was born in Dayton, OH on March 26, 1947 to parents, Robert F. and Jeanne R. Hurst.

Upon graduating from Julienne High School (Dayton, OH), Pat had worked at Browns Sporting Goods, Osco Drug Store and retired from Lawrence High School North.  Pat kept a strong belief and faith in God and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and cooking.  Her greatest joy, however, was taking care of her devoted husband, loving family, and beloved friends. Pat always wore an infectious smile and was always willing to assist anyone in need.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Arthur L. Kennedy, Jr.; sons, Brian Kennedy and David Kennedy (Sue); grandchildren: Lindsay, Alex, Emily, Rozland and Ashley; great-grandchildren: Pedro, Matthew, Manny, ZayDen and Ky’Acia; sister, Barbara DiGiorgio (Joseph); as well as many loving nieces, nephews, close family and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. Hurst and Jeanne R. Papp; and her paternal aunt and uncle, Gene & Mary Dils.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 4100 E. 56th Street, Indianapolis, where friends may gather from 10 a.m. until the mass time.  Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Patricia’s name to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
