Pamela Sue Bishop

Pamela Sue Bishop, 70 of Westfield, passed away on Monday April 1, 2019. She was born on August 16, 1948 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Floyd and Phyllis Rowe. Pam moved to Indianapolis, were she met the love of her life, Don. They were married on her 21^st birthday, August 16th 1969, Woodstock weekend, and together they had two sons, Bill and Dan. Later in life, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Pam earned her Bachelor and Master’s in Science Education from Indiana University, but was an avid Purdue Boilermaker supporter having started her collegiate career at Purdue University.  As a teacher, Pam touched the lives of many children. She spent 25 years teaching kindergarten at Stout Field Elementary, where her reach extended far beyond the classroom, as reflected in the 5 Senior’s Choice Awards for Ben Davis High School/Wayne Township that she proudly received.  Pam continued to stay in contact with some of her former students after high school, and guided some who chose careers in education.

Pam enjoyed vacations in Florida she where could visit her parents, and soak up the sun.  She liked nature, bird watching, and enjoyed attending Indy Car races, given that there was suite access during the race.  Pam also joined the Stout Field Supper Club, spending time with her colleagues.

Pam is survived by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Donald Bishop; sons, Bill (Michelle) and Dan (Stephanie) Bishop; grandchildren, Thomas, Katelyn, Isabella, and Sam Bishop; and brother, Mark (Debbie) Rowe.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Saturday April 13, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, Indiana 46062), where a Celebration of Life will begin at 4:00 pm.
