Dave Dotson, 73, battled ALS for many years and passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Linda Dotson, and his three sons Matthew (Jessica) Dotson, Jeffrey Dotson, and Michael Dotson, and his three stepchildren Seth Humphrey, Jennifer (Ryan) Hollinshead, and Summer (Rob) Theodorow. He is also survived by his sisters Melody Holloway and Kristen (Bob) Hoffman.
Fulfilling his dream to help serve in any way improving the health of mankind, he attended Ball State University and graduated with an MS in Biology.

He earned many awards during his career including The State Health Commissioner Award for Excellence in Public Health. Some of his jobs included Supervisor of Virology and Immunology as well as Division Director for Emergency Preparedness and Response.
He was an avid fan of Sci-Fi and collected over 1,000 books. He loved camping in national parks with his family. He enjoyed photography and recorded in pictures all his travels to enjoy later. Being a music lover, he went to many concerts and musicals as long as he was able. A family man to the core, he was actively involved in his sons’ high school band and also was a soccer coach. His favorite teams were the Colts and the Pacers. He also relished watching any Indiana college sports, Nascar, and Indy cars.
But his favorite thing to do was spoil his three grandchildren: Tyler Dotson, Alexis Theodorow, and Bryce Theodorow.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Betty and Paul Dotson, and a brother-in-law, Dave Holloway.
Please, no flowers. Send donations to the ALS Association of Indiana.
