Narven "Sam" Gist

Narven “Sam” Gist, age 87, of Unionville, IN, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away November 13, 2017. He was born June 11, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from GM after 39 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and was an avid bowler. He loved life and will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind, loving man. Sam is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Edward Gist, Woodrow Gist, Gertrude Cordray, Thelma Gist and Nancy Heifner. Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, John (Dixie) Gist, Theresa (Bill) Leslie, Larry Gist, Lamar (Lisa) Gist and Sheryl Cordray,  as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends may visit from 11 am until the service at 1 pm, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis.
