Nancy Huston

Nancy Huston, 73, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on January 9th, 2022.

Nancy was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Carroll and Regina Reed. After High School, she moved to Chicago, where she worked for DeLeuw Cather & Co. in the arts and design field. It was here that she met her future husband and married James “Jim” Huston in 1978.

After getting married, Nancy moved to Carmel, Indiana, and was a homemaker while raising their two children. After her children grew into adulthood, she worked for the YMCA After School program. She was passionate about art and had a great eye for design. It was here that she had the opportunity to enrich children’s lives with arts and crafts projects and inspired them to be creative.

Nancy loved to visit Chicago. She took great care of her cats and provided the best home for them. During the holidays, her baking skills were unmatched, and everyone loved her pumpkin and pecan pies as well as cheesecake. Nancy poured her heart into any task and carried them out with meticulous attention to detail as well as artistic touch and creativity. At home, she was known for keeping the house spotless. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music and movies. She was thoughtful and kind, always calling to check on you and yours.

Nancy is survived by her two sons, Matt Huston (Alize) and Andrew Huston. She was preceded in death by her husband James C. Huston, in 2013. Her great laugh, sense of humor, and caring nature to help her family will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 24 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service
