Nancy A. Boyer

Nancy A. Boyer, age 76 of Fishers, Indiana passed away on Monday morning, May 29, 2023.

Nancy was born on June 27, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of her father Robert Ratz and her mother Annabelle (John) Ratz.

She married Michael Boyer on September 21, 1968 in Irvington Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, Indiana.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Michael Boyer of Fishers, Indiana.

She is also survived by her two children, her daughter: Mendy (husband Joe) Lukomski and her son: Matt (girlfriend Jamie Smith) Boyer.

Four grandchildren: Maddie Lukomski, Sam Lukomski, Chase Boyer, and Carson Boyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Dan Ratz.

Nancy attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated in 1964. She attended Indiana University in Bloomington for three years where she studied business. In 1967 she went to work for her dad at Citizens Acceptance, a local finance company. She met and married Mike one year later. Nancy’s hobbies included singing and the piano. She worked part-time for several years soliciting for the Thomas Registry. She was also passionate about interior decorating and was always assisting friends and neighbors with their home decorating projects.

Nancy was first and foremost a stay-at-home mom. She loved to cook and she loved performing arts and crafts with Matt and Mendy. In addition to raising her own two children, Nancy was “mom” to seventeen additional foster babies through St. Elizabeth’s church, caring for them from the age of three days until their adoptive parents were ready to take their new babies home. She was a real mom’s mom.

Nancy loved spending time at the lake house. She was famous for shopping for hours for just the right gift, which sometimes was very funny. She greatly enjoyed planning the dinner meal while the family was still eating breakfast! It always took her a week to decorate her Christmas tree as each ornament had to be placed in just the perfect spot – and everyone knew not to dare touch the tree. Her love for animals was evident as the family had multiple pets over the years, including Miss Muffet, the longtime family dog, and several adult cats and litters of kittens. Lastly, the Boyer home was a favorite place for all the neighbor kids, as Nancy always had a home full of snacks. She loved to feed all of the children.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center. Her memorial service will follow at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery with her mother and father at 11:00 AM.
