Mrs. Mishawn S. Hardy

March 9, 1973 — December 13, 2022

Huntsville, Alabama

Heaven awaits the arrival of Mishawn Hardy. Born Mishawn Sheray Ward on March 9, 1973, to the proud parents of Lelanetta Ward and Lewis Carlisle, she was destined to be a shining star that would make everyone around her shine bright.

Mishawn was known to family members as Mom, Granna, Nana Mishawn, Cakes, Shawnie, Shawnie McDoodle Apple Strudel, and Cuz. A smile was always worn on her face and she always tried to make the best out of a bad situation. She lit up the room with her smile and could always seem to find a way to make you laugh and lift up your spirits.

In her younger years, she was educated through the Indianapolis Public Schools System, graduating from Northwest High School in 1991. She then attended Grambling State University in Louisiana and Martin University in Indiana.

She accepted Christ at a very young age at Christ Church Apostolic of Indianapolis. She later became a member of Cathedral of Praise Church of which she was a praise dancer and a choir member. She previously attended Emmanuel House of Prayer and after relocating to Lafayette, attended Whole Truth Apostolic Faith Assembly at which she was a Sunday school teacher, bible study leader, Praise Team singer, and the head of the dance ministry.

During her time in Louisiana, Mishawn was united in her first marriage and was blessed with two loving children, a daughter named Jazmeka Williams, and a son named Jonathan Williams. Having her children were one of the greatest joys in her life and receiving a granddaughter 2 years ago named Jonneyah was another. Those children were everything to her and she loved them dearly.

Mishawn relocated back to Indianapolis and had employment at CVS, Culvers, and a daycare. Working at the daycare inspired her to open her own daycare, so after she moved into her home, she opened her in-home daycare.

While in Indianapolis, Mishawn met John A. Hardy, from Lafayette, and the two began dating and were united in marriage on June 9, 2007. She relocated to Lafayette, IN. While in Lafayette, she worked as a caregiver for Home Instead and she also became a published author of a book titled “Finding True Love”.

As for hobbies, Mishawn loved dancing, writing, decorating, singing, reading the bible, but most of all taking care of her Cockatiel bird named Carey. That bird was just like having another child to her and she loved it like one.

Sadly, to say that Mishawn transitioned on December 13, 2022. A beautiful soul has ascended into Heaven. She is survived by her husband, John A. Hardy, her daughter Jazmeka Williams, her granddaughter Jonneyah Williams, a sister Monique Miller, stepdaughters Soniya Hardy, Kelly Lossie, Stacy Hardy, and Andriya Collins, stepsons Preston Hardy, Roman Hardy, and Jonathan Hardy, 10 more grandkids, aunts, uncles, cousins, and several close friends. She will be welcomed in heaven by those family members that preceded her in death, her father, Lewis Carlisle, her mom, Lelanetta Ward, her son, Jonathan Williams, her grannie, Emma (Bernice) Mosby, her aunt, Hazel Strong, and her uncle, William Ward Sr.

Mishawn is not suffering anymore and is now at peace. She will be praise dancing in Heaven but will truly be missed.
