Michael Patrick Stevens, 69, of Fishers, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 13, 2022 after a long battle of throat cancer. He was born on August 26, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN to Robert Edwin and Marjorie Jean (Filcer) Stevens.

Michael graduated from Carmel High School, after graduation Mike was a mail carrier for the USPS for over 30 years and delivered the Indianapolis Star Newspapers for numerous years. Michael married Sharon (Wildemuth) Stevens on November 1, 1997 in Indianapolis, IN

Mike had a strong passion for scuba diving and was able to complete 399 dives with disappointment he was unable to complete his 400th dive. Mike dove in various locations around the world seeing marine life most will never experience in their lifetime.

Mike was a member of numerous units within the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis, enjoying the different events each unit sponsored throughout the year. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, being outdoors, spending time with family and friends as well as spending time on the Smith “Funny Farm” in Illinois.

Mike will he be remembered for his infectious smile, bringing joy to many with laughter and his sarcastic sense of humor. No one was a stranger and Mike made friends wherever he went.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Jennifer (Clay) Hicks of Greenfield, IN; Deanna (Yuri) Alberson of Waynesville, NC; stepdaughters, Tammy (Robert) Smith of Prophetstown, IL; Dawn Sherbeyn (Steve) of Citrus Springs, FL. grandchildren, Sasha and Sonia Hicks, Bahati Alberson, Ashley Wagle, Kelsey Woolam and Tyler Smith; great grandchildren, Kaden, Rylee, Xavier and Lincoln. He is also survived by his mother, Marjorie; siblings, Mary Lou (Mike) Powell of Greenwood, IN; Patty (Don) Schweitzer of Indianapolis, IN; Mark (Lenora) Stevens of Indianapolis, IN; Sally (Terry) Murphy of Noblesville, IN; Katie (Denny) Walker of Westfield, IN and Andrew Stevens of Pelham, NH along with several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Robert; son, Christopher Stevens and brother, Bobby Stevens.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 5-8pm at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite). A memorial service will take place on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11am, also in the funeral home.  Friends may join the family on Friday virtually by clicking HERE

Mike will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
