Maxine Parris

Maxine Parris
of Greenfield, Indiana, departed this life while surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the age of 90. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 23, 1928 to Thelma and Ralph York.
Maxine married Roy M. Parris, Jr. on August 22, 1952; from this union came three children, Sandra, Karen, and Barbara. She was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis and worked at Indiana Bell until becoming a homemaker. She has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church since childhood. She always surrounded herself by friends and family and had many hobbies such as gardening, word search puzzles, and was known for her Christmas Mailboxes. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy, who left this earth on December 18, 1998; parents, Thelma and Ralph York, and her brothers, Marvin and Duane.
She is survived by her three children, Sandra (James), Karen (Steve) and Barbara (Richard) She was blessed with six grandchildren, Laurie, Jennifer, Stefanie, Billy, Lauren, and Tommy; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan, Courtney, Joshua, Tyler, Blake, Lexi, Luke and Brooklyn.
Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 12-2pm. Services will begin at 2pm with burial in Washington Park East Cemetery to follow immediately after.
