Matthew Alexander Clapp

Matthew Alexander Clapp entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the age of 40. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1982 to David and Roberta Clapp. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was dearly loved and revered by all of them.

After graduating from Pike High School, Matthew went on to receive a degree in Political Science from Indiana/Purdue University (Go Hoosiers!). He worked in many different fields, but the restaurant industry was his passion. He served several years as a sommelier with his expertise in wine.

He is survived by his wife Bethany Clapp, daughter Olivia Clapp, parents David and Roberta Clapp, and sister Sarah Clapp. His grandparents Rosalee Dayhuff, Leland Clapp and Margaret Clapp preceded him in death.

Matthew was warm, generous, gregarious and a joy to be around. He loved being a husband for the last 4 1/2 years and a father for the last 2 1/2 years. He enjoyed cooking, watching sports, random trivia, and spending time with the people he loved.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 6th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m, with a funeral service immediately following, at Flanner Buchanan- Broad Ripple- 1305 Broad Ripple Ave.
