Mary Elizabeth McManus, 70, of Fishers, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022.  She was born on February 24, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa, as the second of 5 children born to the late James Francis and Sally Cecilia (Leithner) McManus.

Mary graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a Teaching Certificate.  She worked for the U.S. Forest Service for over 30 years in Illinois, California, Arizona and New Mexico; she also worked at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Indiana for 2 years.  She moved to Indiana to be close to family when she retired from the Forest Service and made many friends in her Del Webb community in Fishers.  Mary was a member of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church and was well loved by her siblings, nieces, nephews, as well as her many friends from across the country.  Mary’s greatest role in life was being the mother to Christopher McManus, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her siblings (and spouses), James V. (Breda) McManus, William T. (Sharon) McManus, Martin G. McManus, and Sally M. McManus (Forest Klumph).

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN.  Mary will be laid to rest with her son in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be given to:  American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association.

Cremation services entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Geist.
