Mary Delores Weber, age 97, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 9, 1924, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Herman and Mary Weber. She married Rodney Lee Barron on May 5, 1948, who preceded her in death in 1991. Early in their marriage the couple lived and worked in New York City. Mary as a model and her husband Rodney as a make-up artist for Helena Rubinstein and later Revlon Cosmetics. The couple traveled domestically and internationally, appearing on several television broadcasts. The couple settled in Indianapolis where they raised their three children. A dedicated mother and a working professional, for more than 25 years, Mary worked for the Office of Legal Education with much of her tenure under James P. White, Consultant on Legal Education and former Director of the American Bar Association. He relied on her impeccable work ethic, and she shared his passion for excellence in legal education. Students and faculty alike respected and enjoyed their interactions with Mary.
Mary symbolized perseverance. Driven by her incredible faith, she exemplified the human spirit. Born and baptized in the light of Jesus Christ, she spent her life as a devout Catholic. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Her brother Don Weber preceded her in death and survived by her sister, Barbara Connaughton, her three daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Daniel Duffin (deceased), Tina and Kevin Brennan, Linda and Rex Whitten, grandchildren, Kellie (Brennan) and Nate Fazekas, Lindsey (Brennan) and Dan Eckert, Adam J. Brennan, Drew and Erin Duffin, Daniel (Mack) and Hannah Duffin, Brooke (Whitten) Bastress, her seven great-grandchildren and her loving nieces and nephews, Vicki, Rick, Kris, Brian, Kim, Stacie, Laura, and Lisa.
Please join us in celebrating her life Thursday, December 2, 2021, with visitation beginning a 10:00 am, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1530 Union Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.
