Martha Jane Ferguson

Martha Jane Ferguson, 98 of Westfield, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022.  Jane was born January 1, 1924 in Brodhead, KY to the late Theodore and Mary Harper.

Jane first saw her husband, Gale who was in the Army, at a soda fountain in Cincinnati, OH and later found herself seated with him on a bus home to Maryland. Their marriage afforded Jane the opportunity to travel extensively, including Maryland, Germany, Japan, Hawaii, Kansas and Massachusetts.  She especially enjoyed living in Japan and Hawaii as a military wife.  Gale retired with the rank of Master Sargent.

Jane worked in the commissary at Fort Devens, MA and was a personal shopper at the Post Exchange in Fort Shafter, HI.  Most recently, she was a greeter at Meijer in Fishers.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Wednesday, December 28 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel.  Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm Friday, December 30 at Lakes Funeral Home and Crematory in Berea, KY, where additional calling will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Ferguson.  She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Ferguson and step-sons, William Edward Ferguson and Gale Ferguson, Jr.
