Martha Ann Sherron

Martha Ann Sherron, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017.

She was born on January 15, 1928 in Bloomfield, IN as one of 6 children born to Howard and Ima (Hoke) Sparks. Martha grew up on a farm with her siblings in Green County where she enjoyed riding the countryside on her beloved horses, King and Prince. Later, as a teenager, her family moved to Indianapolis and she attended Arsenal Tech High School, graduating in 1946. After high school, at the end of WWII, she met and married Paul Sherron. They were united in marriage on October 19, 1946 and celebrated nearly 71 years of marriage together.

Martha was a longtime member of Southeast Baptist Tabernacle Church. She loved to watch the Colts play and could talk ‘football’ with the best of them. Martha was a wonderful homemaker; she enjoyed cooking for her large family and traveling with her kids whenever she had the chance. Martha also had a green thumb and her garden flourished with her favorite hydrangeas, daffodils, roses and hibiscus.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Sherron; children, Steve (Rae) Sherron, Debbie (Tom) Walker, Anita (Jeff) Stevens, Joe (Rhonda) Sherron, Eric (Brandy) Sherron; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Martha is also survived by her younger sister, Imogene “Jean” Pribble. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sherron will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
