Marlyn “Kay” Kiskaden, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully June 28th, 2022. She was born December 18th, 1944, to parents Glen and Mary Kinder.
Kay graduated from Manuel high school.
On February 24, 1965, Kay married the love of her life, William “Phil” Kiskaden. They met at Al Greene’s, fell in love, and shared more than 54 wonderful years together. Phil passed away December 14, 2019.
Kay was a vibrant, strong lady with a big heart. An award-winning drag racer, she and Phil loved to work on their race car, compete, and watch the other races. Kay was a talented artist and sculptor. She owned and operated her own ceramic shop for many years. Kay’s greatest joy was her family. She took great pride in caring for them, and providing them with a warm, safe home with dinner on the table every night.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Kay is survived by one son: Phillip “Greg” Kiskaden (Rudonna); one grandson: Phillip Kiskaden II; brother: Brad Kinder (Mary); sister: Beverly Masters (Tommy); nieces and nephews: Trinity Woodall, George Smith, Debbie Berry, Dawn Smith (Ben), Melinda Waymire (Jeremy), Jeanne Hazelbaker (Todd), Cathy Bristow; and countless other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Phil, sister Sandra “Sue” Thompson, brother William Kinder, and many beloved friends.
Visitation for Kay will be Tuesday July 5th, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East from 5-9pm. Her funeral will be Wednesday July 6th, at 11am. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
