Marlene Ruth Polovich

Marlene Ruth Polovich, 80, of Danville, Indiana passed away on August 19, 2018. She was born January 12, 1938 in Jasonville, Indiana to Rolland and Ruby Kittle; one of three children.

She was a class of 1956 George Washington High School. Upon graduation, she began a 35-year career with Indiana Bell where she worked in the accounting department. She met the love of her life, Joseph James Polovich on a blind date on August 12, 1978. Marlene must have swept him off his feet as he asked her to marry him then and there. The two married on May 19, 1979 and went on to share 37 beautiful years together until Joe’s passing on January 17, 2017. She loved traveling, fishing, and casinos. Her sister, Janice, remembers a trip to Spain where they shared many memories; particularly how they were served dinner rolls from the previous night for breakfast.  Marlene had a wonderful sense of humor, she was compassionate and had the biggest heart; she will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to meet her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rolland and Ruby and husband of 37 years, Joseph. Surviving to cherish her memory are son, Nick (Chrissy) Polovich; siblings, Janice (the late Eldon) Redding and Duane (the late Janae); grandchildren, Joshua, Nicholas, Cole, and Brittany; nieces and nephews, Beverly (Chuck) Coombs, Bryan (Jennifer) Redding, Jeff Kittle, Jason (Emily) Kittle; lifetime friends, Margie Steele and JoAnne Frye; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, August 23 from 11-1 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indy 46221. Services will take place same day at 1 PM.
