Marlene (Jaworski) McDaniel, age 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on January 7, 2023. She was born in South Bend, Indiana, to Sally and Frank Jaworski who preceded her in death. Marlene graduated from South Bend Central High School. She and the love of her life ~ Dale McDaniel ~ celebrated their love for 39 years; he passed in 2010. Survivors include her brother Ron (Diana) Jaworski, numerous cousins and friends.
Marlene retired from Indiana Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) after 30 years of service. She served in several social clubs, including the Telephone Pioneers and retired Yellow Pages organization. Always engaged, Marlene tutored students and enjoyed many lively book discussions.
Marlene loved her dogs Milly and Lucky, and was thrilled when someone brought their dog to visit her, always prepared for their arrival with treats. Throughout her life, Marlene was an avid horsewoman and enjoyed many trips to pursue her passion on western ranches. Travel was of great importance to Marlene and Dale and their collection of friends; her picture albums tell stories of wonderful memories being made.
Marlene’s joy for life made her a treasured part of many people’s lives. She will be deeply missed. The family wishes to express special thanks to family, caregivers and friends for their prayers, visits, calls, cards and support.
A short inurnment service will be held at St Luke’s United Methodist Church on 100 West 86th Street, Indianapolis at The Columbarium (Block G, Niche 26) Thursday, February 23 at 1:00 PM followed by a reception in St. Luke’s Fellowship Hall until 3:00 PM.
A Memorial Celebration will be held in South Bend on March 1, 2023 from noon to 4PM at M R Falcon’s in South Bend, Indiana.
