Carmel, IN

Mark Anthony Strothkamp (51), of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on December 21, 2022.  Mark was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri with his six older, spirited siblings.  After attending St. Louis University High School, he began college at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis and earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University-Chicago. Mark played collegiate soccer for both Navy and the Ramblers.  He met his wife at DePaul University College of Law in Chicago and they wed in 2001. They were happily married for 21 years. Mark was a talented athlete, coach, lawyer, and professional. He loved all sports, especially soccer. His love for the St. Louis Cardinals & Blues, Chicago Bears, and Liverpool FC will live on through his children, Ainsley and Braedy. Mark was an incredible father, instilling in them his values of hard work, integrity, and service.  Mark was so proud of his children and loved them above all else. Mark was forever going above and beyond in all aspects of this life, including in his commitments to his Hoosier FC athletes, the student-athletes he worked with through the NCAA, his co-workers, peers, friends, and family.  Mark loved many and was loved by many. Our hearts are broken to lose him too soon but the gifts he shared with us will never be forgotten.

Mark leaves behind his wife Margaret “Meg”, two children Ainsley and Braedy, mother Toni, sister Jean (Kevin) Curry, brothers Dennis (Sheila) Strothkamp, Doug Strothkamp, Bill (Debbie) Strothkamp, Brian (Karen) Strothkamp, 13 nieces and nephews, and 11 great-nieces and nephews. Mark was predeceased by his father Harry Strothkamp, brother Richard “Rick” Strothkamp, and nephew Brian John “BJ” Strothkamp.
