Marion W. Jarrett, 96, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018.
She was born on February 21, 1922 in Queens, NY to the late Edward Paul and Marion (Bartlett) Wingerning. Marion married William E. Jarrett on September 12, 1942 in her hometown of New York City. She relocated with her husband to the Indianapolis area and graduated from Butler University with a Masters Degree in Education. Marion taught in the Warren Township School District for many years in Heather Hills Elementary School before her retirement in 1985. She had many interests which included painting, quilting, gardening, traveling and volunteering her time at the local library. However, Marion’s greatest love in life was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Vern) Hausz of Nineveh, IN and William (Kathy McClure) Jarrett of Cicero, IN; grandchildren, Carolyn (Richard) Benberry, Lindsay (Craig Moore) Jarrett, Tim (Carrie) Hausz, Chris Hausz and Amie (Lance) Ashley; 13 great-grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother, William Wingerning of Phoenix, AZ.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 11am – 1pm at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park with funeral services immediately following. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 12pm Central Time in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association. Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
