Our beloved Marilyn Kay Delk (Murray) passed away Friday, June 11 at the age of 73 in Indianapolis after a short illness. Marilyn was born to Clyde & Frances Murray on Nov 18, 1948 in Muncie. She married the love of her life, William Delk, on Nov 13, 1999, and they lived in Economy. Marilyn is survived by her brother James (Rita) Murray, sister Susan (David) Rourke, step-daughter Mindy Boling, and step granddaughter Amanda Hannan. Her nieces and nephews, Melissa, Ben, Katie, Nick, Chris, and Julie called her “Aunt Kay” or “Aunt Mose” and always looked to her as their “2nd Mom.” She spoiled each of them and all their children, Chandler, Sophia, Harper, Malakai, Kingston, Conner, and Maeve. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Paul Murray. Family and friends were everything to Marilyn, who had such a caring and loving heart. She was very creative and enjoyed collecting craft supplies, though she rarely used them. She loved cooking for her family and friends, and always had a story to tell. She loved escaping in a good book, movie, or song, and telling you all about it. For many years, she worked for both Wayne County and the City of Richmond, as a reserve police officer and later in life as an administrative assistant for the police department.
A celebration of life memorial service will be scheduled in the near future.
