Marie Lynn Bruno

Marie Lynn Bruno of Fishers, IN passed away on June 18, 2022 after a long, brave battle with COPD.

Marie was born on April 18, 1957 to Andrew and Adeline Grecula in Rockford, IL. She graduated from Harlem High School in 1975 after getting engaged to her high school sweetheart, Dan Bruno, at Senior Prom. Marie and Dan met in 1971 and were married after graduation on September 13, 1975. She worked at American Bank until the birth of her first child, Kathleen (Kate), in 1977, followed by the birth of Matthew in 1981. Marie was a homemaker and stay-at-home Mom for most of her life, but later enjoyed her work at PPG Paint, Bags ‘n All and Archivers.

The family moved to Wytheville, VA in 1979, then back home to the Rockford area (Machesney Park) in 1982. In 1985 they moved to Indianapolis where they lived ever since. After retiring in 1993, she spent her time crafting, scrapbooking, card making and loving her family, especially her seven grandchildren as their Nana. Over the years, she spent lots of time babysitting for each of the grandkids during the day.

Marie was predeceased by her father, Andrew Grecula, and three infant sisters, Kathy, Theresa, and Sally. She is survived by her husband Dan Bruno, her mother Adeline Grecula, her children Kathleen MacFarlane and Matthew Bruno, their spouses Gabriel MacFarlane and Christina Bruno, her siblings Ann Perkins, Mark Grecula (Glenda), Colleen Gerber (Gregg), and Tammy Whelton (John), and her grandchildren, Claire Hill, Reid Hill, Tess MacFarlane, Vivian Bruno, Millicent (Millie) Bruno, Marietta Bruno, and Brooks Bruno.

Marie’s Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with visitation immediately preceding at 10:00 AM and a luncheon at the church immediately following the Mass. All will take place at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN 46037.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated in Marie’s honor to Down Syndrome Indiana or American Cancer Society.
