Maria Concepcion “Connie” Soidan, 80, Carmel IN, passed at home 5:00pm Friday June 24,2022. Born Sept 4,1941 in Vilapouca Spain, a small quaint mountain village with a rural setting. She was the youngest of three daughters to Alfredo and Clementina Seara enjoying a simple pastoral life. She immigrated to the US in 1962 with the help of her sister and husband (Jose and Maria Fraiz). On Jan 11, 1963 in Gary, IN, she married Etelvino Soidan (deceased) living a life as a devoted wife. She became a naturalized US citizen in 1970 and frequently spent time travelling back to visit parents and family making sure they were provided for. She spent many leisure hours watching her favorite Spanish cable stations, her beloved “novella” series and nostalgically reminisced about her cultural ancestry. She had a penchant for the simple life, gaining fulfillment with chitchatting with those in need of someone to talk with. She had an endearing giggle to match her affable and sweet spirit. She was survived by her sister, Maria P Fraiz, nephews Joseph Fraiz and wife Cathryn , Manuel Vietec Seara, Jose Manuel Filloy Soidan and his wife Teri; nieces Elaine Fraiz, Mary Carmen Vietec Seara, and husband Juan Carlos, Ines Filloy Soidan; and 16 grand nieces and nephews. St Elizabeth Ann Seton was her place of worship. A funeral service with family to celebrate her life will be held at Flanner Buchanan Carmel Funeral. Entombment will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
