Lonnie Lee Scott, 70 of Indianapolis passed away in his loving home with his wife and loved ones beside him on September 9, 2020.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 17 from 4-8 PM and Friday, September 18 from 10-11 AM with Services starting at 11 AM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery after a procession past his favorite spots on the westside.
Mr. Scott was born on January 28, 1950 in Kettle, KY. He was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School on the city’s near Eastside. He served in the U.S. Army and while most every young man he knew was sent straight to Vietnam; Lonnie was sent overseas to Korea. He was employed by General Motors – Allison Transmission division for 30 years, retiring in 2007.
Mr. Scott “Lone” has been a proud member of the Vigilantes Motorcycle Club since 1980. In addition, he was also an active member of the American Legion Post 64 and the VFW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He loved his wife whom he had shared 27 years of his life. Equally important to Mr. Scott was his family and countless friends. Born country – raised city, he was a true American with passionate concerns for his country’s well-being.
Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his father Jesse Scott of Celina, TN; sister Joy Taylor of Indianapolis; nephew Ricky Leech of New Palestine; and beloved road dog Nicholas.
He is survived by his loving wife Shiela (Ham) Scott of Indianapolis; mother Molly (Green) Scott of New Palestine; sister Brenda McNamara (Tim) of New Palestine; brother Jeff Scott-Lingerfelter (Mike) of Traverse City, MI; brother Chad Scott (Stephanie) of Lafayette, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
