Lois Patterson

Lois Patterson, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully September 12th, 2022. She was born August 6th, 1929, in Indianapolis to parents Urban and Irene Wente.

On September 8th, 1956, she married the love of her life, John “Joe” Patterson. They shared many wonderful years together and raised four children. Joe passed away June 18th, 1995.

Lois worked at Hook’s Drug store, which later became CVS, for several years before retiring.

She was a valued member of St. Lawrence Catholic church.

Lois was a modest, loving woman. In her younger years, she participated in a bowling league with other friends from church. She valued her health and fitness and was an avid stationary cyclist. To relax, Lois enjoyed working on crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She had a lot of fun frequenting the Bingo halls and she loved to read.  Family was most important to her, and she made great efforts to stay in touch with everyone.

Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Mark (Darlene) Patterson, Therese (Dave) O’Brien, Marybeth (Ed) Frey, and Jennefer Chafin; grandchildren Cory, Jessica, Kim, Mike, Kristen, Olivia, Sarah, Elizabeth, Emily and Allison; eight great-grandchildren; siblings Therese Wente and Rosemary Brodnik; numerous nieces and nephews and niece Carolyn.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, siblings Joan, Robert, Mary Helen, John, and nephew Bob.

A memorial service for Lois will be held Friday, September 16th, at Flanner Buchanan Memorial Park, at 10am. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
