Lisa Aine Ireland, 51, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022. She was born on October 24, 1970 in Cincinnati, OH and adopted by Ronald G. and Patricia Ann (Beals) Ireland.
As a young girl, Lisa loved to sing and dance and would perform with local theatre productions. She was also very involved in her church, North United Methodist Church. During high school, Lisa worked as a lifeguard for Indy Parks and was very proud of her Red Cross Life Saving Award.
Lisa was a 1989 graduate of Broad Ripple High School where she excelled in athletics, lettering in every sport, every year. She earned a basketball scholarship from the University of Massachusetts. Lisa worked for several local companies in Indianapolis, including RCI. She was currently employed with Defenders and worked in the sales and customer service departments.
Lisa will be remembered for her abilities of being a great mother, friend and daughter; and her radiant smile and joyful laughter that filled the room. She will also be remembered for her athletic abilities and her performances making the lives around her joyful and rich.
Lisa is survived by her son, and greatest joy of her life, Isaiah A. Hawkins; mother, Patricia A. Ireland; siblings, Pamela Ireland Harris of Pelham, GA; Jon (Kelly) Ireland of Bargersville, IN; and Scott Ireland of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by her significant other, Nathan Hobson of Anderson, IN; and best friends, Wendy (Greenburg) Doudt, Rella Jones, Quita Knazze-Orrison, Mia (Kyser) Brown, Rhonda Day (Isaiah’s Godmother) and Tawhona Jenkins.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Ronald G. Ireland; and brother-in-law, Mark Harris.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 4-8pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North. A funeral service will take place on Friday morning at 10:30am, also at the funeral home. Friends are welcome to join the family for services virtually by clicking HERE
Lisa will be laid to rest in Washington Park North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the TAB Recreation program.
