Linda McCord-Hoff

On December 17th, 2022, Linda McCord-Hoff of Fishers, Indiana passed away peacefully after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a young 73 years old.

Linda is survived by her husband, Mark Hoff; her children, Scott McCord, Jeanette (Brian) Robinson, Tom (Lisa) McCord; stepchildren Shannon (Victor) Duarte, and Brandon Hoff; her six grandchildren, Samantha Robinson, Tyler McCord, Graham Robinson, William McCord, Jack McCord and Lucas Duarte; and her sister Deborah (John) Bosse. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ione Donovan.

This remarkable woman was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 18th, 1949, moved with her family to Indianapolis in 1959 and graduated from North Central High School in 1967. She attended and graduated from Indiana University and earned a master’s degree in education from Butler University. Linda was a career educator, teaching all grades at College Wood Elementary in the Carmel Clay school system. She retired in 2012.

Linda had a love of life and enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas when she would decorate the entire house, host family and friends and bake wonderful things that were enjoyed by all. She dearly loved her grandchildren and often did overnight baby-sitting “duties”. Pop-Pop could only marvel at how Mimi tended to her brood.

Among her many favorite things were dirty Martinis, the occasional French Manhattan, weekly family gatherings, fireworks after dark and traveling. Linda and Mark enjoyed many trips together, taking several cruises, enjoying the yearly resort vacation in Cancun, making many road trips to Florida, and visiting various locations across the country. She enjoyed casinos, playing cards, reading, spending time with friends and neighbors and, most of all, being a mom and grandmother. She was adored by her family and will be dearly missed. We were all very lucky to have had her in our lives.

There will be a funeral service to celebrate Linda’s life at 2:00 PM, Friday December 30, 2022. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
