Linda Gayle Ross

Linda Gayle Ross of McCordsville died peacefully at Community North Hospital on July 23, 2018 at the age of 72.

Linda was the youngest of five children born to Herman F. Staten and Gertrude “Lee” Staten.  Her parents, one brother Herman E. Staten and three sisters Julia Hopkins, Ina Boyd-Kittle, and Mary F. Martin preceded her in death, as well as her favorite dog Evil.

Linda married the love of her life, Larry Joe Ross on December 6, 1963.  They always remained sweethearts and best friends throughout their 54 years of marriage.  Although they never had children, they shared a great love for several pets over the years.

Before being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Linda was very active and enjoyed boating, traveling, tennis, horse races, cruises, playing cards, and spending time with her family.

She was strong willed and fought this disease with determination and a great spirit for 40 years.

Linda was employed by Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric) on Franklin Road in Indianapolis for 30 years until her retirement.

She is survived by her devoted husband Larry, as well as several nephews and their families.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Geist, 7855 Cork Road, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Friday, July 27, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
