Leearlis Lillian Durham-Williams

September 3, 1943 — October 22, 2022

Tampa Bay, Florida

LeeArlis Lillian Durham-Williams was born September 3, 1943, to Eddie Lee Thompson and Joseph O. Durham in Nashville, Tennessee. She departed this life in Lutz, Florida on October 22, 2022. As a child her family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, and she grew up in West Indianapolis. Lee, as she was affectionately known, attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Shortridge High School in 1961. She acquired lifelong friends during this time.
Lee married her High School sweetheart Michael A. Williams Sr. in 1963 and divorced after 13 years. From this union, she had three children, Michael A. Williams Jr., Lori Ann Sullivan, and Todd A. Williams. She was a great single-parent, always protecting, loving, and doing the best she could to provide a happy life for her children. Children were a joy for Lee.
Lee had many talents. She was an excellent cook and made the most delicious cakes. Her world famous, super delicious, and way too sweet 7-up cake was the most popular amongst family and friends. Lee also had a passion for shopping, designer clothes, and shoes. She could talk on the phone for hours. She made those around her cry from laughing so much. Lee was a petite, loving, and kindhearted person. Traveling and staying at resorts was something Lee enjoyed throughout her life. Her personality and kindness were a perfect recipe for Lee to excel as a travel agent in both Indianapolis and Atlanta. Lee lived in the Atlanta area for several years, and later retired to Florida to spend her remaining days close to her beloved daughter. She touched many hearts during her time on earth and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, and above all else, Lee loved the Lord.
LeeArlis was preceded in death by her mother and father, two sisters, one brother, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren. She was survived by: oldest son Michael, daughter Lori Ann, youngest son Todd, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-children, one brother, two sisters, two godchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
