Laura K. Watts, 67, passed away on February 21, 2023, after a brief battle with a heart condition. She was surrounded by her beloved children at the time she passed.
Laura was born on January 18, 1956, to Rita and David Wyciskalla in Indianapolis, IN. She graduated high school from Warren Central and dedicated most of her life to being a mother to three children. Laura also worked as a medical transcriptionist in Indianapolis, spending most of her career at St. Francis Hospital. Laura was very involved in her church and local community. She also worked as a senior help administrator to provide the elderly with personal care and companionship. Laura was a devoted Catholic and made prayer and service a cornerstone of her life.
When Laura had her children, she decided to dedicate her life to being a mother. Laura excelled at motherhood and was the foundation for her children, through and through. She was an excellent gift giver, always knew the right thing to say, and cherished watching her children grow. Whether it was supporting Jennifer as an excellent grandmother to her daughter Nora, or encouraging Jeff to pursue athleticism, or assisting Melinda with her homemaking, she was their constant cheerleader and supporter.
Laura was also a ton of fun and when she wasn’t filling her life with faith and kindness to others, she could be found painting pottery, attending sporting events or enjoying community gatherings. She will be sorely missed by all those who were privileged to know her.
She was predeceased by her parents, David and Rita Wyciskalla, and her brother David Wyciskalla. She is survived by her children Jennifer, Jeff and Melinda Watts, and her granddaughter Nora Woodward, as well as siblings, nieces, and nephews.
