Kimberly Lynn Kelso McMurtry, Fishers, passed away on July 7th, 2023.
Kimberly was born to William Kelso Jr. and Sandra Kelso on July 17, 1961. She attended Hamilton Southeastern High School and continued her education through nursing school where she graduated first in her class with honors.
After graduation, Kim practiced as a registered nurse and was considered and expert in home health care. She earned the Nurse of the Year aware three times by her employer, Nightingale Home Health, which employed over 500 nurses. Kim later opened and co-owned Avalon Alliance Homecare with her long-time friend and colleague, Terri King. Kim was a very compassionate woman; she sponsored several children of her friend, Rachael Chawasarira, for admission to the US until citizenship status was granted.
She was a great snow skier despite crying all the way down the mountain the first time she tried at Deer Valley in Utah.
Kimberly has two daughters, Lauren Eskew and Candice Snyder; a father, Bill (Diane) Kelso; a brother, William Kelso III; a stepsister, Jane Anderson; and an aunt, Linda Fenske, all of whom she loved dearly. Kim and family are thankful to the nursing and healthcare staff at IU Saxony for their compassionate professionalism. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arc of Indiana in her name.
Visitation will be held Thursday July 13th from 4-7pm at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis. Online condolences may be shared at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
